Carlos González-Bueno

Member of the Madrid Bar since 1992, State Attorney since 1994 and Fellow of the CIArb since 2019.

He has been Director General of the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office as well as Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Science and Technology.

He regularly acts as arbitrator and counsel in proceedings before, inter alia, ICC, ICDR, SNA-OSCE, CAM and CIMA.

He has been recognised by Chambers & Partners since 2013. He is currently listed in the category “Most in Demand Arbitrator” (Band 1). Who’s Who Legal recognises him as a “Thought Leader” in Arbitration. Leaders League also recognises him as a “Leading” Spanish arbitrator.

He teaches arbitration at the Centro de Enseñanza Superior Cardenal Cisneros (UCM) and has been professor of arbitration and legal argumentation at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE). He publishes regularly on arbitration.

He works regularly in Spanish, English and German and has advanced knowledge of French and Portuguese.
